Length: 3 Days - 36 Hours (Awareness and Operations Combined Course)


Length:  2-3 Days - 18-24 Hours (Management Course)


This Program received the 2002 Outstanding Innovative Program for Adult Education in the State of Georgia.  This Program encompasses three (3) phases.  An Awareness, Operations and Management level course.  These courses meet and/or exceed the following:

  • NFPA 1500 – Standard on Fire Department Occupational Safety and Health Program; General Information and Fitness Requirements

  • NFPA 1670 – Standard on Operations Training for Technical Rescue; Specifically Chapter 8 Wilderness Search and Rescue 8-1 through 8-4

  • U.S. Department of Homeland Security - National Incident Management System (NIMS)

  • U.S. Department of Homeland Security – 120 Team Resource Typing

  • Georgia Office of Homeland Security – 45 Team Resource Tying

  • Georgia Peace Officers and Standards Training Requirements




Length:  1 Day - 8 Hours Course


The map/compass course encompasses the fundamentals of land navigational techniques.  Hands-on course with extensive field work (4-5 miles hiking).  Instruction and techniques are based upon real world experiences and searches.  These include how to use and understand a compass, interpreting terrain features on a map and in the real world, how to determine where you are, and how to get from one location to another, how to get back “home” and providing search managers clear, concise and accurate information on areas searched.  It will also cover the primary colors and symbols on a map and parts of a compass.  It will illustrate how to use a compass without a map or vice versus.  The course is ideal for beginners as well as fresher for experienced land navigators. 




We can develop other training/seminars upon request.  These include exercises based upon the HSEEP concepts.  Ranging from tabletop exercises, drills and full-scale exercises.
